China White (born Chien Na Wei) is the top mercenary of the Chinese Triad.
Biography
As a child, China was abused by her father for trying to have fun with her toys. However, a man rescued her, shooting her parents through the chest. The fear of her father turned a streak of China's hair white, for unknown reasons. This ultimately led to her being bullied for it. One day while at school, she broke, and stabbed a fellow classmate with a pen. Shocked at what she'd done, China took up the tutelage of the man who had killed her parents. Before this, however, she soaked her hair in hydrogen peroxide, turning her hair fully white, forever.[1]

Under the tutelage of the man, who was named Zhishan, China White became a mercenary of the Chinese Triad, later considered one of, if not, the best. She was called upon when Martin Somers was being prosecuted. The triad sent her to kill him, however she was stopped by Starling City's vigilante, Arrow. Though, before she could be fully taken down by Arrow, the police arrived, allowing China enough time to escape.[2]
Later, Frank Bertinelli suspected the Chinese Triad of killing people close to him, and so he arranged a meeting with China White and her mentor, threatening them if they didn't stop. They admitted that they had no idea of what he was talking about.[3]
When Helena kills Zhishan and convinces the Triad that her father was behind it China takes it personal. She leads a group to Bertinelli's house and declares they must kill everyone. She declares vengeance when she finds him but is stopped by Arrow. He shoots her in the leg but she manages to get away.
Frank Chen was able to get China to meet with Moira Queen. Moira requested that she kill Malcolm Merlyn.[4] She and her team nearly succeed but the intervention of Arrow prevented his death. She was nearly killed but got away.
Abilities
- Expert hand-to-hand combatant: China White has demonstrated her proficiency in close, hand to hand combat when she fought Diggle, and Oliver (under the persona of Arrow). She was able to overpower Diggle and nearly killed him, but she was unable to beat Oliver on both occasions that she fought him, only able to fight him evenly.
- Expert knife-fighter: She is shown to be proficient with a pair of karambit knives, using them as her main weapons in her job. She uses them with lethal skill against Diggle and in her fights against Oliver.

- Her relationship with Zhishan beyond the mentor/apprentice bond is somewhat of a mystery. He briefly scolds her for her failure to kill Arrow but he then reassures her (in his own way) that she will improve.
